NOFA Organic Land Care Professional Accreditation ProgramInitial AccreditationIndividuals may become NOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals upon completing the NOFA Course in Organic Land Care, obtaining a passing grade on the post-course exam and filing a signed application for accreditation accompanied by the annual accreditation fee (currently $100). Accredited Organic Land Care Professionals will be publicized through the www.organiclandcare.net web site, the NOFA Guide to Organic Land Care, other publications and press releases. Accredited professionals will receive an updated version of the Standards for Organic Land Care as well as a sheet highlighting the recent changes. Re-accreditationNOFA Accredited Organic Land Care Professional status is renewable on an annual basis upon submission of evidence of the required number of approved continuing education credit hours, a signed application for re-accreditation and the required fee. The accreditation year follows the calendar year. To become re-accredited, the professional must provide the following postmarked by January 1st:
What types of courses are approved for continuing education? Lapsed AccreditationWithin the First Year:Professionals must pay a late fee of $25 in addition to the above requirements, making the total due $125 and a signed form with evidence of 4 approved continuing education credits. All benefits will be restored including publicity through press releases and the website and the use of the AOLCP Logo. However, professionals that have missed the deadline will not be published in the printed NOFA Guide to Organic Land Care. After One Year:Professionals must pay a late fee of $25 and acquire an additional 2 hours of approved credit, making the total due $125 and a signed form with evidence of 6 approved continuing education credits. All benefits will be restored, including publicity in the current issue of NOFA Guide to Organic Land Care. After Two Years:Professionals must retake the Organic Land Care Exam, given at the end of the 5-day course. Attending the entire course is not required. Professionals must pay a late fee of $25 and acquire an additional 2 hours of approved credit, making the total due $125 and a signed form with evidence of 6 approved continuing education credits. All benefits will be restored, including publicity in the current issue of NOFA Guide to Organic Land Care. |
