How do I become an Accredited Organic Land Care Professional?

Here are the steps to get started:

  1. Take the 5-day Organic Land Care Course offered each year in Connecticut, Massachusetts and now Rhode Island.
  2. Pass an exam and pay an accreditation fee to support the program
  3. Pledge to provide care according to the NOFA Standards for Organic Land Care to all clients who request organic care.

Accreditation is renewed annually, with a requirement for continuing education (4 hours per year of approved workshops or courses) and an annual fee. Click here for more information on re-accreditation.

Here are the benefits:

  1. Listing on the Organic Land Care website
  2. Listing in the NOFA Guide to Organic Land Care. Ten thousand copies of this guide were printed and distributed in 2005-2006
  3. Use of the NOFA Organic Land Care logo, lawn signs and other promotional materials
  4. A new credential you can use with potential clients, employers, and others that shows you have been educated by the leading organization in Organic Land Care
  5. Opportunities for continuing education and networking with others in Organic Land Care.

Here is what the current Accredited Professionals had to say about the program:
