The NOFA Organic Lawn & Turf Course
The NOFA Organic Lawn and Turf Course is offered annually in August in both Connecticut and Massachusetts. Our course has also expanded into a new state and for the first time this course will be offered in central New Jersey this year! Material covered in this one day course includes: Why Organic?; Basics of Organic Lawn and Turf; Site Analysis; Compost; Insect Pest Management; A Preventive Approach to Disease Management; The Business of Organic Lawns; Low Input, Low Cost Organic Lawns; Special Issues for Turf (e.g. constant foot traffic, mowing heights); Keeping Down the Cost of Organic Turf.

8th Annual Course in Organic Land Care
This 5-day comprehensive organic land care course is offered in Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. About half of the course is taught by experienced Organic Land Care Professionals and half by technical experts. This course covers a wide range of material: Organic Principles, Site Analysis and Design, Soil Health and Biology, Composting, Rain Gardens and Stormwater Infiltration, Care of Wetlands, Insect Pest Management, Tick Management, Disease Control, Weeds, Mulches, Invasive Plants, Running an Organic Land Care Business and more!

Organic Land Care Update Course
The topics for this course vary year by year and highlight the changes that are occurring in organic land care. Past topics have included: permaculture, diseases of roses and junipers, conservation grazing, New England’s native plant communities and woody plant physiology. Registration is initially open only to NOFA Accredited Professionals, and later to other land care professionals.
